Direct beverage distribution with Bemakers means you can sell into new markets, to restaurants, bars, hotels, retail, private consumers and distributors in different markets via one platform. Your customers, your pricing, your product experience—delivered through one unified platform.

With direct beverage distribution, you stay in charge of how your brand shows up—whether you’re selling to retailers, bars, or end-consumers.

Bemakers handles the regulated backend: everything from tax compliance and customs to warehousing, shipping, and customer support.

Legally, we act as the importer and seller at the point of sale when there is an order—so you don’t have to set up local entities or navigate country-by-country rules.

But strategically, you remain the commercial owner—while we power your expansion behind the scenes.

Let us explain: Bemakers does not buy the products upfront, but instead the products are held in commission in one of our tax or customs warehouses. You as a beverage brand own the products until they are sold to your customers. This way you control the price, always.

What Is a Beverage Distributor?

Put very simply, the traditional beverage distribution is indirect distribution, as it involves many parties on the way between you and your customer. What Bemakers does is that we remove the middlemen, and that’s why our model is called direct beverage distribution.

Traditional Distribution and Bemakers: Different Roles, Shared Goals

Traditional beverage distributors are valuable partners—resellers who bring in-market expertise, regulatory know-how, and sales execution. They typically purchase your product, take ownership of the inventory, and resell it under their own terms. In that setup, the distributor owns the customer relationship—and often controls pricing, promotions, and positioning. They also own all the data about who is buying your product. 

Brands who want to see success through the indirect model will need to prioritize and invest in their distributor relationships: training teams, aligning on go-to-market strategy, and building local traction.

At Bemakers, we offer a complementary path: a direct distribution model where you retain ownership—of the product, the pricing, the customer, and the brand.

Legal Seller When there’s an order, Bemakers becomes the importer and legal seller in each EU country where we are set-up / products are held in. Until then your products are yours, held in commission. The distributor usually buys and resells, but may not hold import licenses across all countries.
Licensing We use our own excise/import licenses—you don't need local entities. You often need to set up your own compliance or work with multiple partners.
Ownership Transfer You sell to Bemakers when there is an order - and we sell immediately onto the end customer. You stay in charge of the pricing at all times. You as a brand sell to distributor; distributor manages further resale -- and decides on the prices, discounts etc.
Invoicing & Tax Bemakers handles VAT, excise duties, and customer invoicing. You may still need to manage local VAT, excise, or registrations.
Tools / Platform You manage everything via the Bemakers platform Operations are spread across emails, spreadsheets, or siloed systems.
Customer Types Any. We support both D2C (consumers) and B2B (trade buyers) + distributors. Depends on the distributor and market.
Warehousing You choose—use our EU warehouse and fulfillment, or ship from your own warehouse in selected markets. We have a mix of tax and custom warehouses. Shipping is handled by the distributor from their warehouse, and you typically have limited insight into delivery status or customer experience.
Exclusivity / Mandate You decide which channels to activate in a given market—you might even have a hybrid model where you go direct plus through a distributor. Depending on the agreement.
Channels Sell across D2C, B2B, distributors, and marketplaces—all from one platform. Typically focused on B2B wholesale; D2C and marketplaces are usually not included.
Brand Building You are best placed to rally interest in-market—we provide you the platform and offer growth packages if needed. The distributor does it—but only after you train and support them to know your product first.
