[Copenhagen] — Bemakers, the direct beverage distribution platform, is opening the doors to one of the continent’s most exciting and commercially attractive markets: Spain. Beverage brands can now sell directly to both consumers and trade buyers across mainland Spain and the Spanish islands including high-demand hotspots like Ibiza, just in time for the busy summer season. This expansion is made possible through the setup of a dedicated tax warehouse in Spain, enabling fast, compliant local fulfillment for both D2C and B2B orders.
Spain is one of Europe’s most vibrant and mature beverage markets, known for its deep-rooted drinking culture and a tourism industry that peaks during the warmer months. For beverage brands looking to reach both local consumers and the millions of tourists who flock to Spain every year, market access and in-market stock are essential. With Bemakers’ new warehouse setup, brands can now reliably fulfill orders, expand their reach, and meet demand during the crucial high season.
The Spanish launch was piloted with two partner brands: Arbikie, the award-winning Scottish field-to-bottle distillery, and Ruby Spiritz, a Danish vermouth producer known for their organic and aromatic expressions.
Ruby Spiritz had long identified Spain as a key growth market but lacked a way to fulfill orders locally, says Henrik Veiergang, Ruby Spiritz co-founder. "Spain is a natural fit for vermouth, with a strong culture of aperitivo and organic products gaining momentum. With Bemakers opening the market, we finally have the stock in place and the support to grow our presence and bring more people together over a glass of Ruby."
Arbikie Distillery, already collaborating with Bemakers across several European markets, saw Spain as a logical next step. "Our partnership with Bemakers has worked well in markets like Sweden and Denmark, so expanding into Spain together was an easy decision," says Ludgero Da Cruz, Sales Manager – Europe at Arbikie Highland Estate. "Spain presents huge potential for a brand like ours that focuses on provenance, sustainability, and premium spirits and with Bemakers handling the logistics, we can stay focused on our story and our customers."
